Hi sdb

Wait until one of my colleagues contacts you to give you detailed advice. We need to spend more time with you answering all of your questions properly, and I cannot do that on the forum. I am sure someone will be in touch tomorrow.

Hi sdb

To be realistic it will take about 6 weeks to get your IVA approved from the date that you first have a serious discussion with a representative from an IP's office. However, this could be longer depending on how long it takes you to get your paperwork together.

This is always a worrying time and your creditors will continue to chase you though this period. However, at least during this time you can inform them that you are doing an IVA and you have a direction and goal to work towards

Sue your situation sounds so similar to ours we had kept our payments up to date but were at a point where there just was not enough to carry on we were working so much overtime to just pay them and had no life at all. I am sure the solution is there for you, as we found. Life in an iva is not easy but the fear of the postman has gone, leaving bills in the drawer till I thought I could face them is not there anymore so be patient and as James says the creditors may chase you for a while, but at least you have some direction to sorting it out. Please keep us posted and by the way mine took only 6/7 weeks from the initial phone call. The sooner you get your info etc back to your company the quicker things move.
