Wow Jan you have lucky doggies, mine get nowhere near that in the week, about half a mile if they're lucky, at the weekend they're worked for hours on a Saturday but Sunday is there day of rest or fishing if they go with hubby.

They don't go that far when it is just hubby who walks them, only with me. He does his normal walk and then I carry on and double my pace as well! It's a lovely walk round by a pool. Lunchtime is always just the short walk and that's it. Weekends is the same.

Lloyd is always off the lead unless there are other dogs about and near roads, but I'm afraid Suzie remains firmly anchored to me! She would definitely do a runner!

Beautiful! we don't have hills here. As Lesley says it is all flat, alhough it has a beauty all of its own, I think.

It's quite hilly where we are, and I drive through a forest which is now an area of outstandng natural beauty to go to work. Frequently see deer on my journey, and when we have snow or a hoar frost, it is really beautiful.

I do agree it has a beauty of its own but sadly is losing this in the town due to the over population at present.

Isn't it always the same? It's getting really over populated here as well, but we do have some lovely countryside not too far away. It's all open at the back of my house as well as we back on to a nature reserve which is where we walk the dogs.

Oooh it's lovely and quiet where I am. Not overpopulated at all! A real sleepy English country village. Bliss!

I live in a cul de sac with ten houses which is off a cul de sac, so we get no through traffic and it is very quiet. Not overlooked at the rear and I do love the fact that the big shops aren't too far away.

Not had much success with cul de sacs in the past. To full of gossiping fish wives and dreadful children running riot for my liking. I like being on a through road as it cuts down on kids playing and being noisy.
It isn't a busy road at all, far from it. We get the odd tractor and horse trundle by but that is about it. I love how quiet and rural it is.
I'm only a couple of miles from a decent size co-op and there is a village store selling essentials. I basically just drive to Tesco for the big shop once a week.
Not a lifesyle that would appeal to everyone, but I can't imagine life any other way.

We all get on extremely well, have parties on occasions and only have a couple of kids who live down here who are quite well behaved. If there is a problem with them then I know I could speak to the parents. We all help out if someone else has a problem with anything.

Our nearest Tesco is half a mile away, Sainsburys, Morrisons and Asda are all within a couple of miles.

Quiet, but not too quiet.

Living in the country would be my worst nightmare - nasty and smelly with lots of tractors slowing me down on the way to work!!!

The only reason you'd really need to drive down my road is to get to the river, so it's fairly quiet. That's one of the reasons that we wanted to live in this road as I'd hate to live on a through road.

Unfortunately we do get the idiot teenagers on their stupid mopeds going up and down the road and the obligitory teenage yobs from a local estate hanging around outside the corner shop but other than that we're lucky.

We are lucky with our neighbours. I'm worried that the house next door has been sold, but luckily they are quite small so hopefully no one with children will move in.

No trouble with yobs at all and the only smell we get is from the tip when the wind is in the wrong direction!

I would love to live on the coast - somewhere where I could watch and listen to the waves crashing on the rocks. My idea of heaven (other than somewhere exotic with warm seas lapping against the shore!)

To be fair we don't get them in our road (apart from the mopeds!) and it's so much better than where we lived before.

If I could live anywhere it would be where I stayed in Lyme Regis in the summer - you could see all the way along the coastline and sit on the balcony listening to the waves!

Fabulous!

One of my favourite parts of the country is Portland Bill - to be able to sit and listen to waves there would be wonderful.

I live in town, opposite a beautiful period house they've turned into flats and that's where my problems lie with noise, having said that I think *touches wood* it's sorted and not by the council!

I live next to a church who hold functions and basically the town is now horrible in comparison to when I grew up. I love the convenience of where I live and I love my house but would just like some peace please!
