Hi 4pb and welcome to the forum. You may still struggle to get a bank account once you are discharged as the BR remains on your credit file for 6 years. You may be best trying Nationwide or Co-op, as they don't have a problem with bankruptcy. If anyone has any experiences of bank accounts post BR please post as I'd be interested to know as well!

hello 4pb you can try these as well. It will be difficult to get a current account but, not impossible.1. Nationwide flexaccount (basic), this comes with a cashcard and internet banking aswell as letting you do direct debits and standing orders, apply online at www.nationwide.co.uk for an instant result.

2. Cooperative Bank Cashminder account, you need to phone them for the application form but the account comes with a Visa Electron card and also internet banking, DD's etc.

3. Norwich and Peterbrough basic account, comes with cashcard and cheque book .Gives you a cheque book), internet banking, DD's etc. Goto www.netmastergold.co.uk to find out more and apply online.

4. Citibank sterling account which comes with a visa debit card and cheque book although I believe you have to earn over 20k a year for this.
