Nearly at the end of my tether this week, extremely inconsiderate neighbours who live below me, last 6 months they have slowly become worse, troublesome, noisey and it's driving me mad!
They don't work, take drugs, drink at 9 in the morning, have 2 kids and all they do is fight and argue, slam doors, out in the street fighting at least once a week, police are called, nothing happens!

All I want is to come home from work and relax, never happens, as I am typing this, I'm listening to thumping music, hammering, kids crying, arghhhhhhh

This morning at 1am , they were hoovering for over an hour, then the devil dog they have just got started whining and the kids crying, no suprise to say i'm knackered today.

I could complain to the housing association i rent from but all they want to do is get you round a table to discuss your issues, I have none, they just need to shut up and live like normal people. They are not the sort of people you can knock on the door and talk to.

Then you have the fear of them damaging your car and all sorts as they are out their faces on drugs most of the time.

Dreading Xmas as my parent's are visiting from Xmas day for 3 nights and I just know they will have disturbed sleep and all sorts.

Sorry - not really a social post but needing to vent my anger and frustration somewhere!

Suzie I empathise totally, I couldn't stand to live like that but can understand why you don't/can't confront them for fear of repercussion. Why do people think they can live like this and let us law abiding citizen's suffer I don't know. What is normal to them certainly isn't to us.

Do your other neighbours feel the same? maybe there is safety in numbers before you go to the housing association?

I only have 1 other neighbour through 1 wall who is also adjacent to the ones below, she is elderly and has no intention of helping with a complaint, this is the 2nd neighbour in a row i've had like this below me. the ones before, i had numerous complaints in, kept a diary but because i wouldn't go to "mediation" with them and the housing they dropped it. Then they went to a solicitor ( as they got legal aid) and i received a letter saying i was causing them daily distress, this was all so the would be rehoused.

So i'm kinda on my own, it just really stresses me out!!

I can imagine it does it would drive me crazy Suzie. Noise pollution is taken very seriously by the council as I have issues with the church hall next door and 9 times out of 10 they're quiet now but to get to this we had to jump through a fair few hoops. I would love to think it will change for you and you will have a peaceful christmas. x

Thank you - hopefully it will, just needed to vent my anger somewhere tonight!

I may win the lottery before then, there is a nice 4 bed house at the top of my road for sale, just enough to buy it, I'm not greedy! :)

Do you have police community support officers in your area? We used to have similar problems but now the PCSO are involved things seem to be settling down, regular visible pcso presence, and then do seem to be active with problem residents.

I am sure we do, the police have been out a few times, when she has been running around the street with her 6 month old baby, they even came to my door to ask me to look out for her, I think not! don't think they were too impressed with my reply. She won't press charges against the guy living with her so he gets arrested, she takes him back and the cycle starts all over again.
They are both on one of these substitute programs for drugs although the state you see them in most times, I would say they are on drugs.

I always say these types get they are due, maybe they will move.

I only need them to be quiet for 3 nights over xmas when my folks are visiting me, my dad is recovering from a mini stroke and they don't need the stress of not having a relaxing time or sleep.

I feel so sorry for you, there is nothing worse than not being able to sleep. I don't have a solution just wanted to sympathise.
Life after IVA is wonderful.

We have noisy inconsiderate neighbours ...normally on a Friday night in the summer......too much drink!

If it were me I would liaise with the local police support offices and seek there support explaining the potential repercussions for you and ask them to step up their visits to your area....I know in our area the environmental /noise control teams work on referrals but have a strict policy of not disclosing who complained.... They use the term "residents" instead of "neighbours" to try and broaden the possible option of people.
Sharing from experiences of dealing with debt

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !

Look at my blog "All I wanted was a baby"

Thanks guys, I may need to go down that route..I am hoping they might move before i have to do that as I'm really the only person who can hear the noise in the house and it would be obvious that i made the complaint.
Thank god I do actually work Monday - Friday and I'm out the house or else i am sure I would go out my mind!

I spoke too soon, had to call police tonight, she was out in the street in her bare feet, totally of her head on something, he was in the house not letting her back in, kids were crying. Police arrived and only stayed 15 mins, why can't anyone see how wrong it is to leave kids with these people???

Maybe a call to Social Services will make them sit up and take note. The children at this rate will end up the same as it's life to them. so unfair x
