IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

Thanks Foggy and Another Bump. The valuation we had was done by estate agent and detailed the need for a new roof and the valuation reflected this so I dont think we could get it reduced any further. I have just been going over the calculation they sent us when we questioned their figures and it clearly says
Equity available
Less Partners 50% Share
Clients Available equity
Equitable Interest.
Yet still it is not 50% each. Think I am actually going mad!!!

Run out of options so have today raised an official complaint so we will see what happens.
Just one question- as we are now in month 59 and knowing how long it takes Gt to respond to things should we go ahead and attempt remortgage just so we are prepared if they still cant see sense?
Thanks

Personally I would wait as I would not want the searches on my credit file and, once GT get their act together, it will only take a couple of days to get rejected !!

And, being paranoid .... GT might have an unwritten time limit on the validity of refusals !
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

The key concept is that they have now made you "joint & severally liable" for each other.

https://www.purnells.co.uk/partnerships ... tners.html

In reality they have confused the provisions with the responsibilities.

Hi Foggy and Lifenoteasy thanks for you replies. Foggy thanks will leave off attempting remortgage as you say no pojnt it unnecessarily being on our credit file. Lifenoteasy thanks I did point out that so hopefully they will see sense.

From earlier posts, this was the GT complaints procedure (if it gets as far as complaining to the Regulatory Body (IPA, in this case)the complaint will be against the IP ( who is the member) not the company (who is not):

1 If a client expresses unhappiness with the service provided by this firm, then in the first instance the concerns will be dealt with by the manager responsible for the area that gave rise to the complaint and you will receive a formal response in that regard within one month of the date of this letter. Should we require additional time to investigate the matter, you will of course be advised accordingly.

2 If the matter cannot be resolved by the relevant manager, you can then direct your complaint to my designated senior member of staff Mr Paul Madden at Grant Thornton, Waters Edge, Clarendon Dock, Belfast, BT1 3BH.

3 If you continue to be dissatisfied with my firm's response to your complaint, you can then write to Ms Fiona Beighton - the Head of Quality & Risk Management who deals with any complaints arising from the firm's recovery department - at Grant Thornton UK LLP, 30 Finsbury Square, London, EC2P 2YU.

In the unlikely event that my firm is unable to resolve your complaint you can then complain to my regulatory body – the Insolvency Practitioners Association.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Hi Foggy, Thanks for that I am already at stage two, my complaint went to Paul Madden. So I guess I have to give him a month before I move to stage three?
Just concerned as we are so close to the end and as you suggested previously do not want to attempt re-mortgage and have it on credit file if not necessary.
