hi all
why is there such a difference from one IP to another, i have read so many times of clients getting the IVA'S done in a matter of 6 weeks sometimes less, where my IP i have not heard from in 5 weeks, only contact i have is when i send a email and get told IP is still looking at it, i really wish i would of gone with someone else now, the IP in question is off this forum and comes highly recommended so maybe its just me, would of been nice to get this sorted thou so i dont get the hassle from creditors, would be great to know why some are done in 6 weeks, where others take 6 weeks to even talk to IP ?
many thanks.

Ip's are probably very busy at the moment and it will also depend to how complex your case is. 5 weeks is not that long [although i know it feels like it when your trying to sort things out] and it can take 6-8 weeks [sometimes longer] to set up, so hang in there. I'm sure you will here from your IP soon.

I agree steve, with the present credit crunch etc, i think that more and more people are trying to sort themselves out so i shouldn't wonder that a lot of IP's are extremely busy, mine took around 6 weeks to complete, so hang in there Ally i'm sure it will all come good shortly.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

from first point of contact mine was about 6 - 8 weeks, but we had difficulty getting info together some creditors not sending info out when requested.. but I think all cases are individual.. mine would have been done in no time if we'd been more prepared!!

all cases are different so no timescale can be accurate
Ang.. 13 payments in.. WOW, thats over 20% paid!! http://angela18.blogs.iva.co.uk/ well here we go

Ours was about 8 weeks from start to finish. I'm afraid you will get the hassle from creditors though, the vast majority of us do. Sometimes carries on after the IVA is approved!

How far along the route are you allyw?

Sometimes cases are more difficult to process than others, and IPs need to interact with specific creditors before they are able to proceed - to deal with specific criteria which may, at first glance, make your application appear unworkable.

I am sure that your IP is working hard on your behalf to try and get the result you require, and would be happy to have a chat with you about this if you were to call her office.

hi guys
i have now spoken to mealanie and her team in depth, what such lovely people which is exactly what i had been told, after speaking to melanie giles and her team i would like to appologise to them all on being inpatient and not having enough faith in them to do there job, i have found out that melanie has indeed been working very hard on my case for the last 2 weeks and i thank her so much for that, my case was not has straight forward as i thought it was which explains the time span, unfortunatly we do things we should not under pressure or stress which believe me im under both and i now wish i had not started this thread, again i fully appologise to mealnie and her team they are doing a first class job for me and would recommend them to any one.

many thanks.

That is a lovely post, but absolutely not necessary! We understand how difficult it can be when you are at home worrying and wondering what is going on, and fully appreciate how distressing this is.

Now we need to get cracking on the next stage of your case - and I will be in touch shortly!
