Hi All,

I have taken the big step and contacted Melanie, I got a call from her office today and somebody will be calling me next wednesday at 6pm. I went to bank today and cancelled most of my direct debits as things are so tight until payday 22nd that about 6 would have bounced, have I done the right thing? My stomach is churning but I am so glad I found this forum. I also opened a cashminder account at co-op today but wil not hear for 5-10 days. What info should I have ready for Melanie's team when they call next week?

All answers appreciated.

Thanks
Trish

Well done Trish on making the first move. Melanie and her team will give you good advice.

I am sure she will post on here later to tell you what information she needs.

Hey Trish, that's great news, good for you taking that all important step. I'm with Melanie and her and her team are all lovely. You will probably get an email from them detailing everything you need. For me it was credit card stats, loan agreements and income and expenditure sheet. If you own your own home you will need to provide details of the mortgage and value and if self employed, your accounts. I'm sure Melanie will advise you soon. Good luck. X

Oh Trish thats great news.

I went through my income and expenditure on the phone and what I owed to who, etc.

I think you have done really well, I was crying for three days before I plucked up courage to go into the bank, never been so scared but it does get better.

I had to stop my DD's so I could feed my family, I had no choice.

Youre doing everything you can to address this problem and you cant do better than Melanie, so hang in there, you are in good hands.

Keep safe now and keep posting.

I know its hard right now and scary, it gets better and soon that churning will be relieved.

Love.
LILY

Hi trish

All the best and well done for making the call it took me a while, to get the courage. I dont know what I expected, but though unfortunately I wasnt with melanies team, it was very friendly and easy to talk. Like Lily I just had a list of all that I owed to and my expenditure and they went through that, it was only a rough one.

All the very best and let us know how you get on.

Ang xx

You'll be fine with Melanie's team Trish. I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry too much - you've done the hardest bit by taking the first step x
