Im just starting the IVA process and when asked about my income i don't get any monies from my ex for my son, will they make me pursue this as i don't want to as we have an arrangement that he just helps with shoes etc for my son.
Creditors are quite entitled to ask why an ex is not paying maintenance as it adversely affects their potential return in those circumstances, and also for attempts to be made for that to happen. There may be any number of reasons why maintenance is not being received, and the key is to document why not, if that is indeed the case. In cases where there is an ad hoc arrangement, again, documenting it will prove key to the process.
Creditors and IP's alike do not want to "punish" anyone, or make life difficult for people, but at the same time neither should creditors themselves lose out.

As Size5 says creditors will want to know what you get and why. If your ex is unemployed or has a large family of his own this would explain why their is no settled arrangement. However, if your ex is a big earner and refuses to pay creditors may request the CSA or solicitors get involved.
