I am struggling with 32k debt and planning to go for an IVA. I am a work permit holder and waiting to apply for indefinite leave to remain in November this year. Will an IVA affect my application for residence permit?

I believe that the forms to make application for permanenet residency ask questions about your financial status including BKR and IVA's.

I have not heard of anyone being refused permission just because they are in an IVA but they wouldn't ask the questions unless they thought that it was relevent.

Just checked the form on the Immigration website and no where does it ask about IVA or BKR but you do need to send 3 prior months pay slips and not be claiming public funds.
You will need £750 fee when you apply and a way to send it to them ie cheque or debit card.
If you can hold off on the IVA until after the ILR might be best to wait .

This is the link to the guidance notes on applying for British citizenship. The forms ask you to declare whether you are subject to any "civil judgements" and the guidance notes go on to say that you are unlikely to be granted citizenship if you are an undischarged bankrupt

ILR is different from Settlement. Thought that was what the poster was asking about. Sorry if I misunderstood.
