Don't worry about the creditors. They will phone and write, and try to bully you into paying. Don't let them get to you. Either ignore the phone, or just be polite, tell them you are trying to sort yourself out and then put the phone down.

I am in an IVA, have been for 6 months and it has changed my life. I would phone an IP for advice, that costs nothing and all of your options will be explained to you.
Your bank account should have been opened by then, and you can go down whichever route is right for you.
