Hi mar
Well not strictly so, but I would always advise people in your situation to share that with their partner. You will need a lot of support whilst in an IVA, both financial and emotional, and that will be tricky if your husband is not aware of the situation.
If you own a property jointly, then he will definately have to be told, as you will likely be asked to raise your share of the equity at some stage during the IVA. Your husband will need to confirm to your Nominee (the IP acting for you) that he is in agreement with this.
I have dealt with many clients in a similar situation to you over the years, and trust me they have all said that they feel so much better when they have told their partners about their difficulties.
