will my wife be rejected from our iva application

she has 1200 pounds of outstanding debt and my name covers the rest of ours

am i right in thinking she may not qualify for and iva as she has less than 15k of debt or willl she count in a joint application

ps can she set up her own dmp to cover this or is it more complicated than that

Your wife will not qualify for an IVA in her own right, given the low level of debts she actually has. How much disposble income does she actually have to be able to repay her creditors? If only a small amount, then she may be better off just negotiating directly with those lenders rather than the formality of a DMP.

to be honest ive havent a clue as we did a joint dmp but if i was to go through a IE interview with a highly recommended iva practioners company as i am tommorow[;)] would this calculate how much surplus she may have ?

Absolutely - so hopefully you will be able to look at this in greater depth after the meeting - and I am sure that your IP will help where they can to ensure that your wife is also looked after.
