Will this affect the IVA?

On behalf of another individual who recently entered into an IVA (about 6 months). He plans to marry in the next few weeks (she has property in the States) and then emigrate with their newborn baby to the States in March. Will this affect the IVA? Whom should he inform?

He should tell the Supervisor of his IVA.

As long as he continues to make the IVA payments and submit annual budgets and do anything else required under the IVA it should not be a problem. However, getting married and emigrating is not in itself a reason to expect the creditors to agree to any reduction in the payments.

If he is a homeowner, then probably the terms of the IVa would require him to pay his share to the Supervisor if he sells it.

I have lots of clients who live abroad, so there is not real problem so long as you continue to make your payments electronically and that he ensures that the Supervisor is aware of his contact details.

It is very easy to keep in touch these days via e-mail. What will he be doing for work in the US?
