The weather has been mild this Christmas, unlike last year and i am dreading when it gets colder. My flat is heated by storage heaters, but they are so expensive to run.Pensioners have £200 /£300 winter fuel payments, plus this year they can apply for a further £120.I phoned my energy supplier and to receive this £120 you have to be in receipt of one benefit from two categories.I won,t be eligible because i am not on income support, even though i am registered disabled and have two benefits from the second category. You have to be quck in there to claim,as it,s first come, first served basis apparently.

I'm sure it is going to get much colder it can't stay like this....very wet/windy here today, rain is lashing at the window.

I hope those who can claim do claim and get the help they deserve.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

It's very windy here but I'm glad it's fairly mild. I hope it stays that way. I hate the cold and the snow.

I've just come back from walking ours - I'm afraid they didn't go far this morning and even with them wearing coats they were still soaked.

Came back to find chunks of concrete around the wifes car. Large chunk of render has fallen off the side of the house when a BT cable is attached!

b***** wind, I hate it!

Had to move both cars,2 feet chunk of render landed at my feet, this is worse than the recent storm. Fence that was partly broken is now worse because the one metal bracket that was attached to a solid point has snapped, the fence WILL not last this out!! If the roof ridge tiles stay in place I will be amazed.

I HATE THIS WINDY WEATHER!!!

Well the only good thing about the weather this morning is it caused a power cut and the office lost their computer service / phones. I tried to fix it by doing a step by step repair with a BT guy on the phone but got to wait til tomorrow for an engineer.

It also caused the heating to trip so I was sent home at 11. Hoorah!!

Worst winds we've had this winter and the roads are all flooded as the drains can't cope. Poor goats were stuck in their house as the door wedged shut and they looked scared s***less so I think it's been very wild here while I was out!

Never mind - got my pj's on now and gonna have a little afternoon nap!![:)]

It's windy here as well but at least it's brighter.,

Unfortunately, where I work, we have a UPS system so our computers etc never go down.

I'm never likely to be sent home.

Met office about 8 hours late in issuing a red weather alert for central scotland, this is worse than it was a few weeks ago when they shut the schools etc.

Sisters street looks like Beirut with roofs missing from every other house and fences laid on top of cars,oh and about 4 trampolines have jumped into several conservatories!!!

Its a mess, and the man on the bbc news said its a little bit windy today!!!! He needs shot at dawn!!

Away to phone the insurance company now.

How can they get it wrong more than they get it right,I mean what is the point in a forecast?!?

Amazing that with all the technology they now have, the weather forecasts are so rubbish. It may be rainy, sunny with a bit of cloud is what ours normally say!!

I've been off work today and I went into town and got soaked! I could hardly walk as it was so windy and my thick coat was soaked through!

I hate being cold, but I prefer cold and bright to wet and windy like this.
