I regularly pass by the Grant Thornton building next to Londons Euston Station. Am not sure which "side" of Grant Thornton this building houses (Creditor or Debtor voting) but it certainly gives the impression of a very impressive and professional City company.
47 months completed - 13 months to go.

We have a similar GT building in Southampton ... all beautiful architecture and pretty lights.

Grant Thornton were the official receivers when the "Legacies" company went down ... I don't know whether any of the finacial experts here know anything about this case but "Legacies" were a company that dealt with probate etc. on behalf of the bereaved. I placed my mother's meagre estate in their hands after she passed away seven years ago. It's a long story but "Legacies" essentially embezzled all the money - my mum's small estate ended up being spent of stretch limos, gambling and prostitutes in Las Vegas. It all became a high court case and some of the directors are still serving time I think. Grant Thornton were involved in the High Court case [:)]

They are an immensly experienced and professional firm, who are very successful and of course have the corporate image to match. Personal insolvency is just a relatively small part of their business, and is generally handled from their offices in Belfast and Bristol, with the other offices focusing on audit, tax, corporate finance, management consultancy and corporate insolvency.

thanks to everyone who posted and for all the advice. I received my revised proposal today and I am now offering £600pm to the IVA which gives me an extra £78 to live on. The figure of £120 for housekeeping still remains the same but I have managed to get a proviso for medical and dental, and some extra for utilities. I feel that I have to accept this as it has been nearly 3 months to get this far and letters are now arriving with the word "DEFAULT" which is making me really nervous. I want to have the meeting and get started all being well. I have not even thought about the prospect of it not being accepted. Wish me luck folks and I will be in touch in the next week or so. All the people at GT have been very nice and helpful but just wouldn't budge on that figure for housekeeping. When you go and visit them let us know what happens.
