I've just realised I've been in my IVA for three years as of this week.

It has been pretty difficult learning to adjust your world to your finances and every annual review is a very stressful & upsetting time but I'm over half way down the road and it's gone pretty quickly. Its just waiting for the next annual review to drop onto the door mat now.

I must admit I have found this forum very helpful... even though I don't post very often, I sometimes just read the posts and I find that very often my own feelings are voiced by others & take some comfort in the fact, you are not alone!

Thanks all

Dan.

Hi
Just think when you finish you will have all that IVA payment to yourself.
Is your IVA five or six years ?

Hi Andy,

5 year IVA

If I signed into my IVA in May 2005 obviously my payments will cease in May 2010 but how long does it take to repair you credit rating etc after that?

Is it automatic that the slate is clean or is there anything I can do to repair it quicker?

Hi
One year on from that date,May 2011,an your credit file will be clear.
I do not believe that there is anything that you can do,prior to this date,to impove your credit rating.

You're most welcome Dan. It's great to see people succeeding in sorting out their debt problems. You are an inspiration to others on the forum who are just starting their IVA journey. Well done again,
xx

I'm always apprehensive at annual review times, your not alone ;-)

I guess its about thinking they will increase the payments more than I can afford, by telling me to get rid of my mobile and internet for example. Silly I know because they have not done so so far.

We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.

Its pretty much as "inaiva" says... its pretty much up to them how much your payments are. You've spent the year adjusting to your budget & then they increase it. So far I've lived with what they've left me but I'm a control freak and would like some more input to my finances at times.
