I'm with Melanie and her team and they're an excellent team to represent you. Your creditors will call but it's up to you if you talk with them. I did, others don't, either way it will have no bearing on the outcome of your creditors meeting.

Remember the forum, we're here to support/advise as needed, you're never alone in your journey x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

hiya
barclays and mbna were both creditors of mine, i answered their calls, explained that i was in the process of propossing an iva, gave them the details of the firm acting on my behalf, they then proceded to put my account on hold for 14 days before calling back for a progress update on the iva.

they never tried to pressurise me into making payments, they were always pleasant and polite. and since my iva has been accepted i have not received one call.

forgot to say, i am wondering if they are only persistent in calling if they don't get an answer, they are only call centre workers doing a job.
and the way i see it is if i were owed a large sum of money and the payment date had come and gone, and there had been no contact from the borrower then i would probably call persistently too!

It doesn't make any difference at all. They will pursue you anyway.

MBNA were creditors of ours and once they established the IVA was in process they stopped hassling us. Halifax were by far the worst of our creditors but even they stopped just before the meeting. We haven't been bothered by anyone since (we might do if our variation meeting fails..) Good luck with your IVA ours was by far the best decision we made. Hope your wife is on the road to recovery now.
It's been a long road getting from there to here but it's been worth it!

We enjoy a great working relationship with both Barclays and MBNA, and I am sure that both lenders will be supportive when they have reviewed your proposals. Sorry to hear about your wife, but trust you are giving her your undivided attention at the moment and hope she will be well again soon.
