They re-instated mine and I just tried to focus on the bigger picture. I won :) Make sure you set up the direct debits to the new account YOURSELF and don't let the bank do it. I also got written confirmation from payroll that my wages would be paid into the new account. Do it now and it won't delay your IVA set up. Ask anyone here. I remember feeling the exact same way- but I did it and now I am laughing, as everything has just been agreed for me at the creditors pow wow.

I can see the change in you from 6 weeks ago Sammy. When you have a moment it's a good idea to start a blog on here. Other peoples blogs helped me along and it's very therapeutic putting all your feelings down and reading it back every now and again.

Enjoy your meal and your birthday.

I guanantee that Johnd will be here in a couple of months, typing the exact same message to someone else who is in the position that he is in now.

DON'T QUIT

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,

And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

I refer to my initial petrified post [xx(]

What a difference there is between the tone in that one and my tone now John...

Excellent post Sammy. Congratulations for today and happy birthday for tomorrow.

Johnd, I know it's easier said than done but please try not to worry too much. You've taken the first step and you're in safe hands.

Good luck...Johnd honestly I felt exactly the same ...horrid! I thought the bank account was going to be so difficult but it wasn't..I opened the account with Co-op then rang each company and changed DD over none of them batted an eyelid including mortgage only issue was when wages went into old account and I couldn't transfer online I was in meltdown thinking Lloyds had sussed me! my boss then paid me again into new account so i had to empty it from cash point every day,to repay him I thought i was going to collapse luckily I had a gold account £500 cash withdrawal daily.. I had one creditor who threatened court I stopped opening the letters as they upset me so much just sent them to IP I had xmas and new year which delayed things and i was paranoid baliffs would knock but they didn't Mels team got me through it...accepted 6 days ago if I can survive the process anyone can with a lot of help from people on here!!!!! Sammy. congratulations and best wishes

during the set up period i was a total WRECK,panic attacks, upset tummy, lost weight, couldn't sleep - when i did nod off nightmares i woke from in a sweat that my hubby was being beaten up by bailiffs[:(],came out in a rash - wrecked!

every time i see people posting who go from that awful, scary place to the other side of having their IVA accepted it makes me smile.

it feels so overwheming, like you'll never get sorted out, BUT we do.[:)]
Nothing stays the same...everything changes..hang on in there!
