Hi
Myself and husband are going to court today to petition for our bankruptcy however I can't help worrying.
If the petition is granted is our joint bank account frozen automatically?
Will we go in front of the judge together or will we be dealt with seperately?
My husband also owes the inland revenue £3200 for a tax bill do we still have to pay it?
Many Thanks

Your bank account will be frozen as soon as the Official Reciever notifies your bank. This could be today.

It is likely that you and your husband will be dealt with together, and him HMRC bill will be included within the bankruptcy.

Hope it all goes OK.

Good luck emma-b

Try not to worry too much, it really isnt too bad and the people at the court are very pleasant and non judgemental. You will be able to open a new account as soon as your BR order has been made.

let us know how it went

Pippa
