Hi All
I wonder if you could help me with some advice.
I have only just entered into my IVA and have only made one payment to Accuma with the next one due on the 1st August. However I need to know if the following would be possible.
At the moment I pay £308 into my IVA and £183.84 on a loan that is secured against my car. My girlfriend and I are currently a little behind on our gas and electricity as well as our council tax and am a bit behind with my payment on my car loan.
I/we need to get these paid as soon as possible as the car loan people are chasing me for the back payments and are threating to take the car which I cant afford to lose as I need it to get to work.
This problem has come about due to the fact that we have both had a bit of trouble with our cars and had to pay to keep them on the road so to do this we had to use the bill/car loan money.
What I am proposing is the following.
I miss the IVA payment due on the 1st August and pay the outstanding bills with this money and then on September 1st when I will receive a large payment for overtime and small bouns I will make two payments bringing me back up to date. I do not have the 50% clause for bouns and overtime im my proposal. Do you think this would be acceptable? I know it is only one payment into the IVA but the arrears will only be for 1 month and it will enable us to be up to date with our bills and take a large amount of stress off us.
Thanks for your help
Regards
Adam

Hi Adam

You should have made sure you kept up with the secured loan repayments and utilities when your IVA proposal was being put together. I'm sure you were advised of this at the time?

You should give us a call to discuss this matter and go through it in more detail but I'm sure we can work something out if you are expecting to receive a large payment in September.

Hope this helps

Dear Accuma
Thank you for your reply.
I will give you a call tomorrow to discuss this further. I know I should have kept up with our payments but the unexpected breakdown and work needing to be done on both our cars was an unseen expense and not something we could have planned for?
Basically all I am asking is for a months grace so we can get back on our feet by paying the arrears and as the arrears can be made up so quickly I was hoping that something like this could be worked out.
Thank you for your quick response and I look forward to speaking to you tomorrow.
Regards
Adam

Hi All
Just to counter some the of bad press the IP'S and expets have taken on this site over the past couple of days I would like to update you regarding this.
My IP firm Accuma and my IP jane Finch have agreed for me to pay a lower amount this month and catch up next month and all done in just a phone call. I find it strange that people have been unable to communicate with their IP firm when Accuma have always answered the phone straight away and dealt with any problems/questions I have had there and then. I know each case is different but I would just like to report a good IP experince as there has been far to many bad ones recently.
