Hi Everyone

Ive got an interview on Wednesday for a non nursing job if I get it, the starting salary is about £17300, which is £5000 less from my last income, therefore I cant afford £313 a month for my IVA, but I dont want it to fail, so was considering if I got the job (and its a big IF) suggesting to my IVA firm to extend my IVA as follows, for seven years, I would be guaranteed to get an extra £600 a year, and my car hp expires on November 2010:

September 2008 - 2009 - £130PCM
November 2009 - 2010 - £160PCM
November 2010 - 2011 - £280PCM
November 2011 - 2012 - £310PCM
November 2012 - 2013 - £340PCM
November 2013 - 2014 - £370PCM
November 2014 - 2015 - £400PCM

Leaving a total payment over 7 years as £24,313.00 on a debt of £38550 instead of £21,720 originally suggested on the £313/5 year Original IVA.

Would that be acceptable? I just need to know, if I am offered this job Wednesday whether to accept or not due to money!

Thanks

I don't think that the extension of an already failing IVA is necessarily viable, Stu, but the most important thing for you is to get back into the job market. So deal with things in stages, and first of all go out and get that job. We will keep everything crossed for you!

Thanks Melanie

But I dont want to go bankrupt and a DMP of £130 a month isnt viable, so wouldnt this be acceptable as an IVA?

Thanks

Not in my humble opinion Stu, but you would really need to ask your own IP who may be prepared to put it forward for you. Let us know how you get on, and good lucl with the interview.

Good luck Stu ... you certainly deserve it. As Melanie says, take it a step at a time.

I understand your parents concern but they don't have to do the job. Is that harsh??

It might be the best thing you ever do!

Think of all the positives and deal with everything else later.
