Congratulations LHS as well.

rose, melanie is right, think of it this way. Now you know the truth, the darkness can end and you can look forward to the light at the end of the tunnel, cliches I know, but all true.

have posted on another thread to you, but will say here too. Go add me as a frugal friend through your profile page, we can email and swap mobiles if you'd like to 'talk' off forum

Hi Karin and Melanie,

I think I'm passed the guilt stage as we were just living, not splashing out. We tried to sort it ourselves but need the professionals now.

I am kind of nervous because I feel overly confident about my IVA. What I mean is we've provided everything, there is nothing to hide, I earn a reasonable wage and it won't always be as tight as it is right now. I am prepared to do anything to get my IVA agreed.
I feel like we're in the process already even though I know really that we are realistically at least 73 months off.

We've not had any creditor hassle AT ALL since applying for an IVA (unlike poor Lem's OH). I can't wait for it to begin, see the total reducing each month and learn to live without credit.

p.s. I teach 11 to 18 (90% asian). It's not easy but at least I only have to teach my subject unlike primary teachers who have to be the jack off trades. I have my hands full with my own 2 and 7 year olds for 3 hours a day, I don't think I could face 30 others for 6 hours a day. Can't complain about the holidays..... roll on Friday :)
1st call 3rd Nov 2010.
Creditors meeting 21st Feb 2011.
IVA approved 22nd Feb 2011.
Will all be over 21st Feb 2016.

Nick, you brave thing I am the opposite the idea of being with older ones who wouldn't listen and have a lack of respect these days scares me LOL, at least 3-5 year olds are still learning. Some are terrors but for the most part the are sweet. I love the idea that I am in at the start, helping with reading, phonics, etc., helping in some small part with the foundation of their lives.

You're post rang true for me as I was quite confident it would be ok, but at the same time so worried that we might jsut be in the minority of rejections. We too had nothing to hide, everything is laid out, oru finances almost the same for years, though i've had to jig my housekeeping a bit as I didn't realise how much i really spent and the amount I have now is definately the right figure as I am only just within budget each month.

rose no probs re frugal friends, have put how to on other thread. At this early stage you are bound to have panic moments, its natural I would say, just think in a very short time it will all be sorted.

Hope you had a lovely cuppa and hug, nothing better and makes you feel calmer. My daughter is my calming influence. last week I was having panicks with driving in the snow, as I was getting stuck, we'd get home and my tum would feel upside down, ten minute cuddle with daughter and I felt so much better.

Hi Leaky
I didn't realise you were a TA I am too! what a conincidence. I work in primary too fulltime for my sins (drives me a little bit mental running round after my 3 boys too)- year 2 in a morning and withdraw SEN pupils each afternoon throughout the whole school. I won't lie being at work yesterday was hard work, I couldn't keep my mind on anything so spent the morning laminating bookmarks for the kiddies - a boring taks but helped me to get through ;) Nobody at my work knows so that was hard too but they would be far too judgemental as it is we have the highly paid teaching staff moaning about how short they are each month - one of whom is often heard to quote - 'I'm not sure how we are going to able to afford to moor the yacht this year!'
I kid you not! So as you can imagine I have to bite my tongue extremely hard and keep my thought to myself, lol!

Have a great xmas and heres to a frugal 2011 x
Debt free after a successful f&f :)

Congratulations Karin, I was thinking of everyone who had meeting this week and couldn't wait to log on tonight to see how they all went.
I am really pleased for all three of you now you can go ahead and all enjoy Christmas knowing there are no nasty letters going to drop through your door in January where you spend Christmas on the plastic

The one advantage of teaching is that today I finsih at 1.45 until 8.45am on Wednesday 5th January! I'm coming to the end of my teaching I think as I'm burnt out and totally worn out today but I enjoy the successes, I'm with adults so they pay to be here which isn't as bad maybe?? A new college is being built for us to move into Easter 2011 so I'm hoping for a transfer of role. Had my appraisal yesterday and mentioned it so we'll see.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi Lesley, I finished today at 2pm and don't go back until 8.30am on Tuesday 4th Jan.
Education is not as safe as it was, especially at the FE end like you. I hope you get the position in your new college.
I know what you mean about being tired, I've been winging it for the last week for so. Ofted expected in the new year!!! At least me finances should be sorted in January and that's one thing less to worry about.
1st call 3rd Nov 2010.
Creditors meeting 21st Feb 2011.
IVA approved 22nd Feb 2011.
Will all be over 21st Feb 2016.
