Hi can anyone help me out with guidelines for costs for clothing, shopping etc.

I'm going to help my friend with her I&E form later, just so she has some concrete info before she contacts Melanies offer. I'm sure I've read before there are guidlines on minimums / maximums you can claim to cover these costs.

Any help gratefully accepted [;)]

Julie, I can't find it either and whan I type it into search it goes funny! However, I did write this down months ago:- CCCS clothes/shoes £33 for a couple and £10 each for children, Payplan £20 per person. Hope this helps but don't forget they are guidelines only. Good luck for your friend. X

I can imagine Julie, but when Andy and Melanie met the guy from CCCS, he said they were ONLY guidelines....Hmm?

The CCCS guidelines are now revised with effect from 1 September 2008 - so if you want a copy Julie contact me at my website and we will send this to you.

Hi Melanie.. when you say they have been revised as of 1st September, is this for new IVAs or will these be taking into account for annual reviews?

It's for new IVAs Ang. For annual reviews for older cases, you merely have to deal with your IP - and most of us are pretty realistic when it comes to expenditure increases - we have families and run cars as well, and our shopping and petrol bills are also going up.

Quick update - I met up with my friend again last night. She's now done an I&E form and got a list of her debts. That was painful and I take my hat off to her for facing up to it in front of me. A message has been left on Melanie's office answer machine, so hopefully a meeting will be arranged shortly.

I think thats the biggest hurdle now cleared facing up to it and getting it all wrote down.. hubbys friend has just had his call with Tina and he's on his way to sorting stuff out.. took him a while to sort his head out first but he's getting there.. all these little steps are giant ones to a debt free future
