had a debt with citi financial which was sold off to a company called first credit
the biggest mistake i made was trying to deal with them by phone verbal threats ranged from house calls to charging orders and even bankruptcy.

in the space of six months i had a statutory demand posted to me despite regular reasonable payments.

without doubt the vilest people ive had to ever deal with.

The worst case I have come across concerned a couple who were fostering a child and had made an application to adopt him. They had no assets but feared that bankruptcies would affect their adoption application. In addition, they had a reasonable income and could afford payments to an IVA. While we were drafting the proposal a creditor[who shall remain nameless] rang demanding payment and the clients explained about the IVA. They also explained about the adoption and their fear that bankruptcy or in fact any legal action could jeopardise the whole process.
The creditor concerned said 'You clearly cannot afford the child. Give IT back'.

That is absolutely disgraceful Michael! Whoever said that wants putting up against a wall and shooting.

That's disgusting Michael. Money isn't everything, love for the child is far more important.

Royal Bank of Scotland was by far the worst, most aggressive and demanding creditor I had while on dmp. Phone calls by the bucket full and letters at least twice a week. Havent heard from them for over a week now, so quite pleased about that. On the other side of the coin MINT Credit Card were great, never added any interest in the 12 months I was on dmp even though I was paying them next to nothing on the 12K I owed them...

Lloyds TSB have also been very constant and at times aggressive with me and my wife. However I have learnt very quickly how to out wit them. I think I spoke to them 4 times yesterday and on at least 3 occasions it was them that put the phone down.

Lloyds have been on the whole OK with me. My only gripe is the 'international call centre' who have not got a clue regarding Iva's. I spoke to them last Friday, Monday and Wednesday saying the same thing. have decided i will not bother next time, just put the phone dwn when you hear the delay
There is always an answer! You just have to find it!
