It seems as if you have had a good OR, the allowances seem fair. I think it totally depends on the OR you are either lucky or unlucky enough to get...
Well done on getting it sorted out,
xx

There are people in IVAs who would lost their right arm for a budget like that - to compare to CCCS guidelinesL-

Housekeeping - maximum £445 and more usual to be limited to £364
Clothing - maximum £68 and more usual to be limited to £53
Telephone - £72 and more likely to be reduced to £65
Hairdressing - £16
Holidays/Xmas !!!

And on top of that being allowed to keep half of the disposable income!

And the creditors are wondering why more people are filing for bankrutpcy! I rest my case.

I agree with you Melanie, I've said it before, allowances are very harsh in IVA's. Considering the creditors benefit more from IVA's it makes no sense to me to make living in an IVA a nightmare. It seems to me as if they are trying to recoup as much as possible to compensate for what they lose through br clients....

It is very unfair. Both me and hubby br as we were unable to do an IVA and to be honest when I see the allowances, I reckon the IVA would have failed and we would have had to file for br.

You've had a good and realistic OR sjw, which is good. It's just a pity that they weren't all as good and that the allowances in IVA's weren't on a par with them,
well done again for getting it sorted out

Melanie, If the CCCS change there recommended guidelines on expenditure ,what will happen to expenditure for those already in an iva and struggling on unrealistic budgets (Im not blaming anyone for mine i agreed to it so i must live with it). I know new ivas will be able to follow those guidelines , but what of the ones already in place , would they be able to change their budgets or not?

The only way to get your expenditure increased in an IVA is by agreement firstly with the IP and then ultimately the creditors (unless you are in a recent IVA which allows the IP discretion to reduce payments by up to 15%.

Hey Locko, read Andy's blog on their meeting. You just have to put down what you ACTUALLY spend, if your creditors think it is too much they will tell you. Viki X

Locko, this link has the guidelines, but as Viki says, it's best just to put down what your expenditure is and the OR will say yes or no.
Hope it helps,
